Sport has always been Matt's world. He played rugby at school and club level and raced go-karts competitively at national level before his condition deteriorated and he was no longer able to participate in these sports to the level he was driven to. Rather than slow down, he channelled everything into wheelchair tennis — and within three years has become one of the most promising young players in the game globally.

In 2025 Matt became the youngest player ever to represent Team GB, winning Gold with the squad at the ITF World Team Cup in Antalya, Türkiye. He then made his Grand Slam debut at the 2026 Australian Open, reaching the final — a remarkable introduction to the world stage of the sport. He holds both the British Junior and Senior year end National LTA titles simultaneously and is ranked among the finest young players in wheelchair tennis.

This year Matt has set his sights on competing at three Grand Slams and more than 20 tournaments across 10 countries and four continents. He is proudly supported by Under Armour, Vodafone, Yonex, Rudy Project, Sennheiser and Baylis & Harding — a roster of partners whose support says as much about Matt as anything he has achieved on court.

On and off the court, Matt's professionalism is undeniable. Whether training, competing or representing his partners, he brings the same intensity, focus and dedication to everything he does. Just as confident in front of the camera and building media relationships as he is on court, Matt understands that every aspect of his career matters — and approaches each one with the same maturity and commitment.

Away from tennis, Matt is an aspiring horologist, a passionate aviation enthusiast, a drone pilot and photographer, and a lifelong racer at heart.
